Sixth Form Careers

At Waldegrave Sixth Form, we are committed to delivering an ambitious and extensive careers programme, which raises aspirations, unlocks potential, breaks down stereotypes and promotes success for all students. Through this provision, we seek to support you in gaining the necessary knowledge, skills and experiences to make informed choices about your future and become both leaders of, and contributors to, the workplaces of the future.

As part of this ambition, all sixth form students have access to a high quality careers programme, comprising a wide variety of activities and events that will collectively ensure you are ready for both the opportunities and challenges presented by the world of work. This will include:

  • Interactions with higher education providers
  • Encounters with employers and employees
  • Experience of the workplace
  • Access to current careers and progression information
  • Personalised and impartial careers guidance
  • Embedded links to careers within the curriculum

This vision aligns closely to our whole school values of Enjoy, Achieve, Empower, as we hope that through the programme, you go on to enjoy your future careers, achieve success in your chosen fields and feel empowered to pursue your individual aspirations.

Details of the specific careers programme for each year group can be found below:

In addition to the activities and events listed in these documents, it should also be noted that careers education is embedded into various other aspects of school life. This includes links to the world of work and the development of transferable skills within the academic curriculum, as well as an exciting and varied array of enrichment opportunities, such as after school activities and school trips.

The Careers Lead of Waldegrave School is:
