Our Year 11 book club has just finished reading ‘The Crucible’ by Arthur Miller, a powerful play about the Salem witch trials which took place in Massachusetts, USA between 1692 and 1693. They will start their new play, ‘1536’ by Ava Pickett, next week with new joiners welcome. ‘1536’ is new play which debuted at London’s Almeida Theatre only last year. It is set in Tudor England against the backdrop of the failing royal marriage of Henry VIII to Anne Boleyn. The club is led by Ms Nowicki weekly at lunchtimes on a Thursday, it is open to all Year 11 pupils. #thecrucible #playreading #bookclub #waldegraveschool #enjoyachieveempower
