It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Waldegrave School website so that you can get a sense of our wonderful school. It is an immense privilege leading such a vibrant community.
Our students are at the heart of our school, they are enthusiastic and conscientious learners that grow into confident and compassionate adults. Our staff and governors are specialised, reflective professionals who work hard to ensure that every student can achieve their best, both academically and personally. Our parents actively engage with us as a school not only to support their own children but all of our students. Together we ensure our three school values – Enjoy, achieve and empower – underpin all our students’ experience of school.
We are a comprehensive school, proud to support our local community. We are the only state girls’ school in Richmond for students in Years 7 to 11, whilst our thriving sixth form is mixed. Our examination results are consistently excellent, however, Waldegrave School has much more to offer than examination results. We firmly believe that the most successful students are those who really throw themselves into the life of the school. The opportunities here are many and varied and all students’ ambitions are nurtured. Students are supported to take responsibility for their learning and make the most of leadership opportunities they are given both in and out of lessons.
The school has been recognised by a number of external organisations. Our most recent Ofsted report confirmed that we were Outstanding in all categories and the school has been included in The Sunday Times Parent Power list for many years. We are proud of our reputation but we are not complacent about it, we have all worked hard to achieve this and consequently work even harder to preserve it.
