Equality, Diversity And Inclusion

At Waldegrave School, we believe that everyone enjoys learning, feels valued and experiences success. We are fully committed to upholding the Equality Act 2010 and to eliminating discrimination, advancing equality of opportunity, and fostering good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it. We value the diversity within our community and recognise it as a strength that enriches the educational experience.

Our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) policy underpins all aspects of school life. We take a proactive stance to prevent discrimination, support those with protected characteristics, and encourage positive relationships across our school. In line with the Public Sector Equality Duty, we work to remove disadvantages, meet different needs, and promote inclusion. By embedding these principles throughout our school, we strive to create a respectful, supportive atmosphere where every student and member of staff is empowered to succeed.

In line with our resolute principle in achieving this ethos, our Waldegrave Charter, produced in collaboration between students, staff and governors, sets out our school aims to support this commitment, recognising the need that all members of the school community must contribute to building a culture where everyone belongs, feels safe and is equipped to thrive.

The nine guiding principles below are reflected in our every day practice within the school.
