Facilities and Lettings

At Waldegrave School, we are proud to offer a high-quality learning environment supported by well-maintained facilities. Our site provides a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space for students, staff and the wider community, designed to support academic learning, personal development, and a rich variety of extracurricular activities.

Our site is unique in that it has traditional buildings dating back to 1930s as well as modern facilities including our sixth form, sports hall and science block. There are also extensive, well-maintained grounds and lots of on-site parking.  This has meant the site is a fantastic venue for filming companies with school site featuring in the Netflix series Geek Girl, the 1989 film Shirley Valentine with Pauline Collins, and the 2014 film Before I go to Sleep starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth.  We have also hosted mini series for the BBC.

We hire out many of our spaces and facilities to local community groups, sports and drama clubs and holiday camps.  We are proud of our links to these clubs and work closely to ensure a varied programme of clubs are available for community use.  Please see our lettings page if you are interested in hiring our facilities.

Estates Management

Our vision is to offer high quality facilities and resources to our students, staff and visitors. We want the classrooms, specialist rooms and other facilities to be inspiring, safe, secure and accessible spaces which support our school community during the working hours as well as local community groups in the evenings and weekends.

To this end we have a detailed Estates Management Strategy and invest in regular maintenance and refurbishment each year.  We are committed to looking after our site in a way that is energy efficient, sustainable, achieves value for money and meets the needs of our whole community.  We follow the Good Estates Management Strategy as outlined by the DfE and have a detailed financial plans and a robust governance procedure for challenging and approval.
