Waldegrave recognised for ‘Exceptional Education’

This week Waldegrave School has received two awards from the schools, students and teachers network (SSAT) for transforming practice in climate for learning and effective learning behaviours. These accreditations, from Leading Edge – The national network for high-performing schools – and SSAT, recognise that our school is offering exceptional education, and practice within our setting is amongst the most exceptional nationally. Students and staff met with a peer reviewer from another school as well as an SSAT moderator to assess the learning environment and behaviours at our school. Pupils spoke about their learning, and their enjoyment of school.

Claire Lane, Deputy Headteacher and Director for Teaching and Learning said:

“We are thrilled that Waldegrave has been recognised for the hard work we put in to ensure every member of our school community enjoys learning, feels valued and experiences success. SSAT moderators highlighted that the learning environment we provide across classrooms motivates and engages students, offering a culture to support everyone’s success.

“Waldegrave learners empower themselves to succeed and respond positively to high levels of challenge, as noted by our peer moderator. Students also describe Waldegrave as ‘friendly and calm’, as fostered through our whole school focus on student wellbeing and pastoral support.”
