Waldegrave will be taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning again this year, on Friday 9 October, in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. This event is the charity’s largest annual fundraising event, encouraging people to host gatherings with tea, coffee, cakes and conversation. All funds raised from these events go towards supporting those living with cancer in the UK.
Bake a difference
We are inviting all students to get baking at home and bring in some yummy baked treats in order to support this fantastic cause and make it a huge success. Students can bring in traybakes, large cakes (cut into individual portions), cupcakes, biscuits, cookies, brownies, but please remember that no nuts should be used in any of the ingredients.
This event will be run by our House Captains, and in addition to raising lots of money for charity the event is an opportunity to earn points for your house.
On the day students will be able to buy cakes in the large hall at break or lunchtimes depending on their year groups. As was the case last year, we will not be using cash. Instead, parents should purchase tokens in advance through ParentPay, where you may also make an additional donation to this fantastic cause. All tokens must be purchased before midday on Wednesday 7 October.
Each token costs £1
You may buy as many tokens as you wish.
Students will receive a physical token which they can exchange for a cake.
1 token = 1 cake. No token = no cake.
We are very grateful for your support with both baking cakes and purchasing tokens. With your help, we can raise an impressive amount for this important cause.
Thank you for your continued generosity and have fun baking!
