Last Friday night, the school hall was a buzz with the return of the Friends of Waldegrave Quiz and Curry Night.
A large number of teams battled their wits for the top place over the course of a few hours. Some teams arrived ready formed, others were made up on the night as parents from different year groups met and formed allegiance.
The rounds were varied kicking off with a geography round where every second question was on an animal discretely related to the preceding location question. Famous movies had to be guessed from one line summaries, myths identified in scientific facts and for the creative, a paper plane making round. Those musically inclined had a chance to shine knowing the number of seconds before a singer started on their track. All this was accompanied by a delicious curry and a well stocked bar.
Net takings came close to £1,500 including £872(!) at the bar which will be put towards supporting the school’s programmes and activities. A huge thank you to everyone who came along, especially our fantastic volunteers who quizzed our brains, served out the curries and kept the drinks flowing. It was a wonderful night for a great cause – we hope to see you soon at our next Friends of Waldegrave event!
