On Friday six of our Year 11 students chose to take part in the Intermediate Physics Challenge, alongside roughly 6,000 pupils across the country. This international physics competition is organised by Oxford University and is a traditional paper based problem solving challenge open to all Year 11 students studying at GCSE level. The paper includes multiple-choice and short answer sections that aim to test students’ knowledge and understanding of basic physics principles.
Very well done to Coco B, Poppy C, Charmaine F, Victoria M, Andrea T and Alice Z who all took part.
In our Sixth Form, A-Level Physics students participate in similar competitions including the British Physics Olympiad, where they could qualify for the International Physics Olympiad, which was held in Mumbai last year. Just before half term, our Year 12 Physicists all participated in the Senior Physics Challenge Online. Every student in the class achieved a Bronze award, which they should all be very proud of!
