Waldegrave is delighted to announce exceptional GCSE results today, our best ever GCSE results. The students’ success in achieving such impressive results is testament to their hard work together with the exceptional teaching and pastoral care the school offers its students.
- 94% of students achieved at least 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at grade 4 and above.
- 80% of students achieved at least 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at grade 5 and above.
- 53% of all grades achieved by students were grade 7 or above.
- 55% students achieved at least 5 GCSEs at grades 7 to 9.
Ms Tongue, Headteacher, said “We are all immensely proud of our students for their brilliant exam results, which are the result of their diligence and determination. We should remember that this group of students had a very disrupted start to secondary school life, joining Waldegrave in September 2020. These outstanding results also reflect the unwavering commitment of Waldegrave staff and the invaluable support of families, whose encouragement has played a vital role in this success.”
Mrs Dhir, Head of KS4 commented “This morning has been an absolute joy to celebrate the wonderful achievements of our students. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our Year 11 students the very best success in the next stage of their education. We have really enjoyed working with this fantastic group of students to help them to achieve their goals and aspirations.”
Ms Tongue added, “The rest of the week will be incredibly busy as we enrol students into our sixth form. Regardless of next steps, all of those receiving results today will always be part of the Waldegrave community and we look forward to hearing about their future successes. We are really pleased that so many of our students will return to us for A-level studies and are excited to welcome new students into the Sixth Form. ”
